SATS is back!
Today SATS presented the results for Q3 2021. We leave behind a quarter with the strongest member growth in SATS history. During Q3 2021 the member base grew with record high 41 000 members (7%) compared to 1 000 in Q3 2019. And coming out of October the member base is already back to pre-pandemic levels. We also see that our members are even more active than before pandemic, with higher vists per member than in Q3 2019.
- The recovery has been faster than expected. Member base is fully recovered and underlying growth in member visits, yield and other revenues are all very positive. The SATS organization is full of energy and ready to make even more people healthier and happier, says Sondre Gravir, CEO of SATS.
All clubs have been open during the quarter, various COVID-19 restrictions have been in force in parts of the quarter, but no restrictions are imposed on our club’s end of quarter.
During the pandemic there has been uncertainty regarding potential structural changes for our industry and member habits. Now, a few months after most restrictions were lifted, we see that member habits and demographics are largely unchanged. We also see that the pandemic highlighted the importance of living a healthy lifestyle.
- The focus on health and wellbeing has become more important to people during the pandemic. People are returning to our fitness clubs and they are even more active than before the pandemic. We have invested significantly in growth during the pandemic by opening 22 new clubs during 2020 and so far in 2021 and have already confirmed 17 new openings over the next months and into 2022. In addition, we are investing in our digital services with the launch of Mentra by SATS to reach even more people and help them to get an active lifestyle, says Gravir.
